Magic Hills Private Collection Game Reserve is an unspoiled wilderness sanctuary tucked away into a secluded corner of the boundlessly beautiful Great Karoo.

 With breathtaking views as far as the eye can see, Magic Hills beckons on modern-day pioneers to embark on a lavish journey of mental and physical resuscitation, personal indulgence and wild adventures.

As if floating in the mystic atmosphere, Sky Lodge is an ultra-luxurious nine-bedroom villa resting atop one of the highest mountains in the area.

Sky Lodge Accommodation

Floor-to-ceiling glass doors in the reception areas perfectly frame the magnificent surrounds. Comprising seven beautifully appointed suites and two separate apartments, it is an ideal sole-use villa for extended families or groups of friends.

Each suite is spacious, light-filled and equipped with all the modern amenities one would expect. Two of the suites also have their own private pools.

The décor and interiors feature earthy tones of brown and beige, which give the feeling of a connection to the surrounding nature, as do the textures of wood, wool and similar natural fibres.

Big fireplaces in each reception room keep guests cosy from the sometimes-crisp temperatures of the great outdoors, while the infinity swimming pool is the ideal place to cool off when the mercury rises, and the expansive deck makes star-gazing an experience.

Other guest facilities include a fully equipped bar, wine cellar, indoor jacuzzi with views, gym & massage treatment room.

Activities at Magic Hills

Magic Hills is home to a rich variety of wildlife, including the Big Five, the iconic cheetah, towering giraffes and large herds of wild game. 

Daily adventures into the reserve take travellers on Big Five game drives or game walks on foot with a skilled guide.

Our hikes also include the Cheetah Walk, tracking down land’s fastest hunter, and the Rhino Walk, a truly magical encounter with these endangered, African beasts.

Although renowned for its wildlife and conservation efforts, Magic Hills also offers Sky Lodge guests the opportunity to jump-start their adrenaline with rock climbing and abseiling facilities. Journey back in time with an excursion to recently-discovered rock art sites, to step into the lives of the tribes that walked this rugged land many centuries ago.

Try your hand at target archery or clay pigeon shooting, with a skilled marksman as your guide, or participate in our thicket restoration project and contribute to saving our ecosystem, and the planet.
